A Laundry Room Makeover

Loving this laundry room make over by Birds of a Feather. Look at the floor! Pops of orange and green!

Love, love, love the pelmet box window treatment.

Check out some before pictures and more of the makeover here.

Nursery Love

Click Image to Enlarge {image via here}
I really love this nursery Caitlin Wilson helped design. I think one of the main reasons I love it so much is that it reminds me of our little man's nursery. They are both very different nurseries, but both nursery share some similarities. Both have a color scheme of blues and greens. Both have the same Ikea dresser with colored knobs. Both have a lime green clock. Both have a blabla doll. Little man's nursery is still very much a work in progress, but it's getting there. This weekend we hope to finish putting the dresser together {we had a damaged piece in the box, so Ikea is sending us the new piece and it should arrive any day now}, and put some window treatments up. Then the weekend after that my mom is coming to town to make the crib skirt. We have completed painting, assembling the crib, and a few other small things. Hopefully, I'll have a few small tid-bits to share with you Monday.

Nursery Wall Inspiration

It is such a yucky day here in NC, that I needed something bright and cheery. These yellow nursery walls hit the spot. I hope they brighten your day a little bit too!

Nursery Fabric Inspiration

A few fabrics I'll be considering for a nursery...

I'll more likely use some of these fabrics if we have a little boy, but girl or boy there will be green in the room. We find out in two weeks if we'll be adding a little boy or girl to the family! Then I'll be able to start ordering some fabric samples. I am so excited about decorating a nursery! All these fabrics are from L&S Fabric.
Maybe I'll do a little fabric count down to the big day...stay tuned.

Enjoying Bright Colors

I really enjoyed the house tour of Amie Corely on Design*Sponge yesterday. I enjoy seeing all the white rooms out there in design world, but my heart will always lean toward color. In my own house I have no white rooms and I don't think I ever will. Are you for color? Do you like colors on the wall or in the furniture and accessories of a room or both?

It's Friday!

I'm so glad it's Friday, but not so glad I'm in the office.
The Wolfpack had an amazing win last night against Cincinnati, but I'm paying for it now. It was military appreciation night and they did some amazing things for our Troops. First, we had a fly over, it gives me goosebumps every time. Second, they did a card trick after the first quarter that spelled out 'Thank You Troops', it looked so cool! Third, at halftime they had bag pipers play Amazing Grace, beautiful. Then they covered the entire field with an American Flag, and then 4 paratroopers landed in the stadium. It was such a wonderful night and a great way to say thank you to all the men and women who protect our country. Oh, and because it was on ESPN my sister was able to watch it in Mexico!

We're off to High Point tomorrow for a wedding and then I hope to relax and do some more Rue reading. I must say I like what I see so far. I'm really in love with this bedroom.

Hey Sarah, Can you get me one of this bed spreads while you're in Mexico?! Any color will do.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ikea Kitchen - Really?!

Can you believe this is an Ikea kitchen, a Southern Living Ikea kitchen at late?! Isn't it beautiful. Read more and see more about it here and here.

Delightful Mini Kitchen

I'm really enjoying this mini kitchen that was posted on Design*Sponge yesterday. I'm loving the green and blue, of course, and the mini industrial range. Also, the tile that's not only the back splash, but the counter too. Oh, and the blue painted in the cabinets. There really isn't much I don't like about this kitchen.

The rest of the house is also just as delightful, check it out here.

Commitment

Black walls...not ready to commit or living in a rental?

Well, here's another option. Paint a large canvas or piece of plywood the color of choice and pop it behind a desk, a sofa, a tv, anywhere you would like for the same impact.

Bathroom Before & After

{images via raenovate}

I think this is a great bathroom makeover. A lot of the houses that we are looking at have similar bathrooms, generic builder blah. I'm always trying to think of inexpensive ways to update and bring character to these types of bathrooms. I always new I would probably have to paint the cabinetry, but never thought of removing the drawers and doors. I love how they brought in a fun fabric to liven things up. Then just update the lights, mirrors and faucets and you have a builder basic bathroom with some character.

I love...

...a extra large bunch of hydrangeas! I'll be leaving my beautiful hydrangea bushes in a few short weeks. It will be a must to plant some at the new house.

Happy Weekend!

Dan and I are finally going to look at some houses since putting our house on the market! We didn't want to start looking too soon because we do need to sell our house first. Still waiting for the right buyer, but we figured we would start to figure out what we wanted in our next house. We know we want a garage and an 'extra' room, but other then that we are open to anything.

I'm also in a little slump...I'm in need of a project! However, it's not such a good time for a project. I don't want to spend money on our current house, that we don't have too, and we don't have a new house yet. I can at least start collecting inspiration for the new house. Here are a few...

Have Dan build some daybeds for a porch & have Mom sew some great pillows:

We have this coffee table, it just needs a fresh coat of paint...oh, and I need to first get the table back from my sister (it's in her college house and for you fellow Wolfpackers it's on Brent Rd):

I like the mix of grey with the red, which would be nice in my husband's NC State room:

For a guest bedroom:

I would love some fun wallpaper in a powder room:

Brentwood Regency State

And last but not least, a fabulous blue & white dining room:

Have a great weekend!!!

Delightful

It would be delightful to be lounging here with my chocolate lab right now, instead of sitting in a cube.

Delightful Pillow

I love this new pillow from anthropologie! It reminds me of the fabulous Nina Campbell wallpaper by Osborne & Little. If you're not sure about committing to dark walls, the pillow is a great alternative to bring in some of the same colors.
