Catch-Up...

Two weeks ago half the household got the stomach bug!  I didn't get the stomach bug, but did get a nasty cold.  That's why I fell off the blogging bandwagon.

We barely recovered and were off to the mountains with friends.  It was a good time.  It snowed 11+ inches where we were staying at the top of the mountain.

We got back from the mountains and had some play dates.  Lunch at the State Farmers Market Restaurant and Marbles.  Jake just wanted to drive drive drive the fire truck (it was really an ambulance).  We've been taking advantage of the warm weather and playing outside as much as possible.

And last...the Hubs has started our built-ins!  They are going in the 'formal living room', which we are turning into a study/library/dan room.  I'll have more details in the coming weeks!

SNOW!

Well, not really, but here in central NC we take what we can get!  We had a few snow days over the weekend and enjoyed playing in it.

We, also, did some snow crafts while we waited for it to stop sleeting snowing.

It would be nice to have one good snow this winter, but I would be ok if it just stayed in the upper 60s or low 70s too (it's 69 degrees today)!

He loves being outside

I am so thankful for a child that loves being outside!  He loves playing in the dirt, hiking through the woods, sliding, picking flowers, drawing with sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles, mowing. I look forward to the many adventures will have exploring the great outdoors.

A few pictures from the last couple weeks (so happy about the mild winter so far)...

Halloween & the Big 3-0!

This year Jake was a puppy dog, thanks to his Nana who made the costume.  Jake picked up the whole I get candy if I say 'more', 'phees phees', or ring the door bell.  It started with Trunk or Treating at my parents' church the weekend before Halloween and then Trick or Treating on Halloween.  The kid racked up!

 {signing 'more'}

This past weekend we celebrated my big 3-0 birthday with a Shrimp Boil in the backyard.  It was a perfect fall evening!  Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!  I still don't feel 30!  And a few pictures from Saturday...

Pumpkin Picking

I'm a slacker, at least a blog slacker!  We had a great summer, but it was busy busy, putting blogging at the bottom of the list.  We'll see if I can get back into some type of blogging routine.

I'm just going to pick up on our current activities, it would be way to long of a post to cover the fun of summer.

We've finally been enjoying some cooler fall weather here in central NC.  It's been great for tailgating, football games, bonfires, going to the park, and picking pumpkins!  We have a little strawberry field across from our neighborhood and this year they also grew a pumpkin patch!  So, yesterday we took a little outing across the road to find the perfect pumpkin, and we found it!  It's giant, the biggest pumpkin I've ever had!  Jake had a great time running up and down the rows pointing at all the pumpkins.  It was a delightful time with my little family!
