A few pics from the weekend...

We were finally able to get away to the lake this past weekend.  It was so nice to be on the water again!  We had a great time visiting with family, swimming, boating, and eating.  We also discovered we have a water baby.  It was his first time really being in the water and he loved it!  We were so proud of him!  He also loved wearing his new shades I found on clearance at Target, he's so stinkin' cute!  Hope you all had a nice weekend!

A Few Things...

1. I was finally able to plant a little veggie garden at the new house.  We'll hopefully have a late summer crop, fingers crossed.

I also have a little helper.  He likes watering the garden the best (because he can play with the hose).

2. We really like blackberries around here.  I would recommend this blackberry sweet tea recipe and this blackberry frozen yogurt recipe.

3. Jake loves popsicles!  I finally bought some cheap popsicle molds, but now I need some good recipes.  Any suggestions?

Happy 7 years of marriage to the best husband and father!  I love you so much!

We Moved!

I didn't say anything on the blog, but we sold our house and moved into a new house last week! We went under contract 9 days after we put the house on the market! I never said anything here because I didn't want to jinx it after what we went through 2 years ago trying to sell the house. The funny thing is, we bought the house we were suppose to move into 2 years ago!

You still won't see many post from me over the next 2 weeks, one because we're still unpacking and two because we still don't have Internet. I'll be back soon!

Before & After: The Kitchen

So, I thought I would show you some pictures of the progression of our kitchen.  I would say the kitchen is the room in our house that we have done the most work.

What it looked like when we moved in...Yikes!

We started painting everything the day we got the keys to the house!  

What it looked like most of the time...

Then we finally added granite countertops (to say I hated the white tiles with brown grout is an understatement), new hardware, and a bookcase at the end of the peninsula. (The first picture shows the newly built bookcase.  We decided to add it since we were updating the countertops.  That's why the countertops don't extend over the bookcase in the above picture.)

Happy 30th!

We've been celebrating the hubby's 30th birthday the past few days!

Saturday night was dinner and drinks with good friends.

Yesterday was his actual birthday, and we celebrated as a little family with 30 gifts and yummy cake!
