Speaking of Blue & Green

I just love the new displays at Black & Spiro in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. They were featured this week on the owner's, Anna Spiro, blog Absolutely Beautiful Things, one of my all time favorite design blogs!

Wish List

I'm a southern girl born and raised, and there's just something about a monogram.

Time for a North Carolina Tradition

Since my husband and I bought our house 2 1/2 years ago we've made it a tradition to have a pig pickin' every spring. It's now time for us to work on our 3rd annul pig pickin'. For those of you who don't know what a pig pickin' is, read here, it's a southern tradition. My husband and I prefer a good eastern NC style BBQ sauce that he makes himself. We both really enjoy having the pig pickin' every year, it's a great time to spend with friends and family. It's such a fun day and you never know what will happen. For instance, at our first pig pickin' things were starting to wind down, the women were inside chatting and the men still outside drinking. All of a sudden I see something fly into the living room and then out. It didn't really hit me at first until a few minutes later I realize what's happening as the BAT, yes a bat, flies back into the living room! So, of course all the women start screaming...just picture some of us grabbing our 'babies' {babies=our dogs} and diving under the dinning room table...it was quite a site! The boys {notice I put boys and not men this time, they had been drinking since 8am} hear use screaming and come charging into the house. One of them leaves the door wide open cutting off the bat's path in and out of the living room. You would think this would be good, except that the bat flies upstairs! Now, picture 5 boys, who have been drinking since 8am, all running up the stairs after the bat...another site to see. They finally managed to knock the bat out with a baseball hat and carry him out.

So, it's always a good time and I can't wait for this year's pig pickin'! I'll be posting little tidbits about the pig pickin' as I begin to get things ready.

Delightful Jewelry

For those of you who know me, know that I love jewelry! I especially love unique statements pieces. I have just found a designer that is amazing and I wanted to share with you. I will have to add a piece to my collection. One of these necklaces would be great to wear to one of the many weddings I'll be attending this year.

Which one is your favorite? I think I'm loving the first necklace the most! Find more of these great necklaces and other fabulous accessories at DolorisPetunia's etsy shop.
Also, if you don't know about Etsy...it's amazing!!! Check it out!

Organization Project

Can you guess what I'm going to make with the above items? Well, I'm going to use the items above to create a catch all for mail, cell phones, sunglasses, bags, shoes, etc. I love our house, but we don't have a entry way large enough to designate a place for the everyday items like car keys. Right now everything gets dumped on our kitchen table or kitchen counter tops, and I'm about to go crazy! I was reading through one of Martha Stewart's little good things catalogues and she had some storage solutions for everyday items. One item gave me the idea to create a portable entry way table to catch everything as we come into the house. It will be located in a not so typical place, but I'll be able to hide it when company comes. Stay tuned for the end results!

A Delightful House {oscar & emma}

This is a very soothing house to me. I love that it's mainly nautral with subtle pops of color. It would be very easy to come home to this house and relax. Also, never been a huge cat person, but how beautiful is this couples cat?! Check out more pictures and details at Design*Sponge.

My Happy Little Family

The 2 favorite people in my life, both doing things they love...playing video games and eating bones...my wonderful hubby and my spoiled routine puppy, Georgia!

I just love this picture, it was taken a few days after Christmas 2007. Santa brought my hubby an XBox and Georgia a giant raw hide bone...they were soooo happy!

Almost Time...

It's almost strawberry pickin' time. We have a new little strawberry farm by the house and every time I go by I look for little specs of red! Normally, I pick strawberries at Lewis Farms in Wilmington, NC with my family. This year will be attending a wedding, so no trip to Wilmington for Easter and no Lewis Farms. At least, I have the strawberry field just down the road...can't wait to start seeing RED!

I finally did it!

So, I've just discovered this whole world of blogs in the last couple months. OK, so I've always heard about blogs, but never paid much attention to them. Now I spend too much time reading and browsing blogs. I really appreciate the people that share their thoughts, inspirations, hardships, and 'what nots' with the world. I want to break out of my shell and do the same, so here I go....

Delightfully random thoughts, ideas, loves, inspirations, pictures, and on and on...
